About us
We’re a small, volunteer-led, nonpartisan, 501c3 nonprofit group working to connect community, culture, and commerce.
The Alliance started when the Chamber of Commerce closed in 2022. The idea was to take a bigger approach—not just helping businesses, but also supporting the whole community. Since then, we’ve helped beautify the town with the Flowers Plus Committee, the Spirit of Place Art Show, public art projects, safer walking areas, and organized community events like Memorial Day, Independence Day & Fireworks, Casino Night, Winter Festival, and the Annual Community Wide Yard Sale.
We also promote Westport and have a strong partnership with the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism. We proudly collaborate with the Town of Westport and local and regional nonprofits to build toward a better future for all of us.
The mission of The Westport-Wadhams Community Alliance is to nurture collaborations among public and private entities and support economic growth, cultural vitality, and environmental sustainability in the Westport-Wadhams community.
We welcome your ideas and energy. If you live in Westport or Wadhams, please come to our monthly meeting or consider volunteering on one of our committees or task forces. Check out the 2024 Impact Report to learn more about what we accomplish.
The Alliance Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm via Zoom. Reach out at gowestportny@gmail.com to learn more and get involved.

Town of Westport and Westport-Wadhams Community Alliance JOINT STATEMENT ON COMMUNITY CIVILITY
Both the Westport Town Board and the Westport-Wadhams Community Alliance Board (formerly the Chamber of Commerce) share an important purpose: to create a welcoming, inclusive Westport-Wadhams community that is economically and socially healthy.
Both Boards are committed to a conscious and continuous demonstration of mutual respect - for people, for the roles they take on, for their knowledge and expertise, and for their contributions to the wellbeing, safety and general welfare of the community.
Respect, civility, tolerance, integrity and honesty are not just words; they are intentions that are evident in our interactions with one another. We honor the right of expression, tempered with respect for the rights of others, even when points of view are controversial.
To that end --
•Each of us has the personal responsibility to engage courteously in all forms of communication, whether oral, written, or electronic.
•Regardless of status or position, every person has worth and dignity.
•Recognize contributions of others and value their opinions.
•Demonstrate and promote fair and just treatment.
•All members of the community are responsible for contributing to the common good.
Please note: if you have a complaint about actions that negatively impact the community-at-large, or you personally, please either 1) speak directly with the Town Supervisor and/or attend a town board meeting; or 2) contact the Westport-Wadhams Community Alliance (info@gowestportny.com) and receive a respectful response.
