When and how did you arrive in Westport?

I moved to Westport in March of 2017, just before the growing season, to farm veggies and cut flowers.

Is Vagabond Blooms your first business?

Vagabond Blooms is my first personally owned business, yes! Aside from landscaping, painting, growing micros, edible flowers and cut flowers for friends and commercial, this seems like a true match for what I want to do.

At this point, how do you envision your offerings, specialties, seasonality, open hours, etc.?

I envision building NOT your "usual" arrangements and installations. Being able to mix the local flowers from myself, other local growers along with blooms we dont often get to enjoy in this area, is going to be a ton of fun! Keeping things artsy, with funky vessels will be an added perk to this flower co.. Going into the cooler months, until summer or so, I plan on being open Tuesday-Friday 10:00-5:00 and Saturdays from 11:00-3:00. 

What do you love about living in this community, in this part of the world?

Westport is the first small place I’ve lived during my adult years. I definitely love the amount of people that grow things here or move here TO grow, like myself. I also feel super fortunate to have met so many amazing people in this community. Whether from somewhere else, or if they are TRUE locals, I feel welcomed often and a lot of times, like family. I love that! The support and opportunity here is incredible! Also, having the opportunity to raise my son in this community has meant worlds to me. I’ve been told that this may be the "center of the universe," considering how people are seemingly drawn to this area. The landscapes and simply driving from one place to another is easily breathtaking and extremely inspiring for me and my work aka passion 

You are a creative person in so many ways: what are you most looking forward to creating with your new shop?

This is a great question!! I want to  create anything we don’t get to or can't, in our everyday day lives. Beauty, blooms, art, color, fun pieces with plants, and anything that makes you smile when you walk by them. All of those things, I want and envision Vagabond Blooms to provide for this area.
