Flowers Plus! Has a special announcement: In the past several years, the Flowers Plus! Committee has been busy breathing some fresh vibrancy into Westport, enhancing our civic pride in the place we all call home. From new holiday lights on the lampposts and the tree on the Library lawn, to installing and maintaining 5 new public flower beds and flower baskets on the Wadhams bridge, expanded bridge flowers in Westport, flower barrels around town, over 300+ lilacs planted including a flush of new dwarf lilac hedges on our main streets, and park benches dedicated to local honorees. The Committee has been able to lead this heavy lift of visual improvements only with support from the Town and community and the participation of several dedicated folks to make it all happen. While we’ve welcomed some new members to the Committee in the past couple years, we’ve also lost a few oldies but goodies, and we’re ready to welcome new folks to our group so we can keep the legacy of our work going. Gardening skills are welcome but not critical- a ‘can do’ spirit that our Committee embodies is much more important! If you’d like to find out more or attend one of our monthly meetings, yay!
