Welcome to the brand new Community Newsletter! Westport has too much going on to squeeze into one newsletter, so we are now sending TWO : one at the beginning of the month that focuses on WWCA initiatives (town-wide projects and celebrations, new developments) and one on the 15th that highlights all other community activities (arts, culture, movies, business news, etc).

FIND WARMTH AND INSPIRATION AT THE WESTPORT LIBRARY!

Get ready to write! The Writer’s Group at the Library now meets every Thursday from 4-6pm! It’s a time to meet and share your work and spend quiet time writing. All are welcome! Monday Night Movies continue through the winter, and on Tuesday December 2nd, Yogini Jen Williams will be leading a 90-minute “Yoga Journey for your Nervous System”. We all need that at this time of the year! There’s an enticing new program on December 13 from 11am-1pm called the Community Canvas Collaborative Art Project: “the programs are designed to offer opportunities for individuals to express themselves through the use of color, patterns, designs, or poetry”. Westport’s own Pianist Rose Chancler will be playing ‘Music of the Season’ on Tuesday, December 16th, at 7pm: Not to be Missed!! Winter hours are Tues, Thurs 10-6, Saturday, 10-2. The energy and genius of Jane Boxall will be on full display this month at the Mill, with 3 shows: December 4th at 7pm: Jane Boxall in Freeway Clyde, December 11, 7-8pm: Jane Boxall in Iceberg, and December 18, 7-8:30: Jane Boxall in Bad Smell. December 20 brings the annual favorite, Mill master Taylor Haskins in his Solo Solstice performance. Don’t miss all of this local musical wizardry, along with the Mill’s brilliant menu and cocktails!

From K&D Deli: “Just in time for the snowy weather our delivery option is here! Our Menu is still out for printing. To place an order for Delivery, call the store at least two hours before you would to order in-house. This time frame will change as we get our routine down.

Our drivers work on tips, please take care of them as this is a premium service here in our area and the delivery route is large. As time goes, we will expand days.

You are welcome to order what you like off the menu but warm food cannot be guaranteed to stay warm. Depending on where you are located dirty sodas and coffees also are tricky and may not stay cold or hot. Pizzas are currently offered in the afternoon and evening starting at 3:00.

Groceries are also included. Alcohol is not allowed. Call the store and place your order. If we are out of what you like or don't carry it, we will call you back. We will do our best to accommodate you. Let's all cross our fingers and hope this works well. Happy Delivery!”

From Whitcomb’s: “Ellen Few Anderson is an abstract artist, living and painting in the Adirondack mountains of northern N.Y. since 2006. All her life, she has spent summers in Westport, NY, in the house designed and built by her great great grandfather, Colonel Francis Lee, in 1848.” Read her full story HERE. These exceptional abstract paintings are on view until December 21, and gallery hours are Thurs, Fri and Sat from 11-3.

Whitcomb’s is also offering a yoga series, a Dance Jam the 2nd Weds of each month, and the Whallonsburg Grange Hall has a full schedule of music and movies to keep us hopping all winter!

From the Essex Food Hub: “As part of our emergency response, we're opening an 𝗘𝗙𝗛 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 & 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗿 to help local families access fresh, healthy food whenever they need it.

Located just outside our Westport Market at 6700 Main Street.

Open 24/7 for easy access.

Currently stocked with frozen meals, meats, eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, onions, carrots, potatoes, oats, frozen/canned corn, canned tomatoes, and GF muffins and rolls.
